IntelHire Privacy Policy

IntelHire ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes job postings to provide salary intelligence, fit scores, red flags, and application insights. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Data We Collect

The Extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Profile information you enter manually: job title, years of experience, security clearance level, certifications, technical skills, salary targets, location preferences, and work preferences.
• Resume text parsed locally from files you upload (.docx, .pdf, .txt). The file itself is never stored — only the extracted text fields.
• Job scan history: titles, companies, match scores, and extracted fields from job postings you analyze, including the URL of each posting.
• Job posting content read from the active browser tab when you click Analyze.

Additionally, if you choose to activate an IntelHire Pro subscription, the Extension sends your email address to IntelHire's own server to verify your subscription status. See Section 3 below for details — this is the only data that ever leaves your device.

2. How Data Is Used

• All analysis (salary estimation, match scoring, red flag detection, keyword extraction) runs entirely in your browser. No job data or profile data is sent to any server.
• Profile data is used solely to personalize match scores and salary assessments within the Extension.
• Scan history is stored locally to show you averages and trends on your profile page.
• Your email address (Pro subscribers only) is used solely to check whether it has an active IntelHire Pro subscription, so the Extension can unlock Pro features.

3. Pro Subscription & Payment Processing

IntelHire offers an optional Pro subscription ($4.99/month). If you subscribe:

• Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. IntelHire never receives or stores your card number or other payment details.
• Activation: to unlock Pro features in the Extension, you enter the email address you used at checkout into the Profile Settings page. That email is sent to IntelHire's server (intelhire.app) solely to check whether it corresponds to an active subscription. The server responds with a yes/no status; it does not receive or store any of your profile, resume, or job scan data.
• Your subscription status is then cached locally in chrome.storage.local and periodically re-verified (roughly every 48 hours) the same way.
• You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time via the "Manage Subscription" link, which takes you to a Stripe-hosted billing portal.

4. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not transmit any data to external servers except the email-address check described in Section 3, for Pro subscribers only.
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind.
• We do not collect browsing history beyond the active tab content you explicitly analyze.
• We do not sell, share, or disclose any data to third parties, other than Stripe processing payments directly on its own platform per Stripe's privacy policy.

5. Permissions Explanation

• activeTab / scripting / host permissions: Required to read the content of job posting pages you choose to analyze. The Extension only reads page content when you click "Analyze This Job." Host permissions are also used to contact intelhire.app for Pro subscription verification.
• storage: Used to save your profile, scan history, and Pro subscription status locally in Chrome's storage (never synced externally).
• sidePanel / tabs: Required to open the IntelHire side panel interface and, where applicable, open the Options or Pricing page in a new tab.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

All data is stored locally in Chrome's chrome.storage.local. You can delete all data at any time by visiting the IntelHire Profile Settings page and clicking Clear All Data. Uninstalling the Extension also removes all stored data. IntelHire's server does not retain a copy of your profile, resume, or scan history at any point, only a record of which email addresses have an active Pro subscription.

7. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Extension evolves. Material changes will be noted in the Extension's update changelog.
